We aim for rooms to be ready by 3:00 pm. Need an early check-in? We try to make accommodations where we can, however we can only do this when we know in advance, so please be in touch.

Check-out is 11:00 am.

Check-ins are from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. If you won’t make it within that timeframe, no stress, please get in touch with us directly so we may give you self-check in instructions.

All of our rooms accommodate 2 guests.

We serve a continental breakfast from 8AM-10:00AM with homemade and local
goodies. Things to expect at breakfast: tea and coffee, yogurt, baked goods, bread and
spreads. If you need an earlier breakfast than 8AM, we are happy to show you where
the supplies are so you can help yourself.

We have free parking available: four spots on the left-hand side as you drive up the hill and two in the carport.

Yes! We have a very high-speed fibre line connection for all of your internet needs

At Buffalo Lodge, we embrace a unique blend—part bush retreat, part boutique hotel, part intimate homestay. She is the harmony of a stunning setting, city-style details, and a cosy shared space. In the spirit of transparency, we honestly acknowledge the limited soundproofing due to the wooden walls and the era of construction. To ensure everyone has ample space, we intentionally keep our numbers small so there are tons of places to take space and have privacy. Additionally, white noise machines are provided in each room. While we believe, this doesn't diminish the overall experience, we want to inform you that it's a characteristic of our enchanting wood-filled lodge.

We are able to host infants in our space; however, we unfortunately are not equipped to host kids of other ages due to the high balconies and soft furnishing.

Let’s talk accessibility. To be honest, we are not nailing it, YET. This unique setting is perched on a steep, sloping hill, which is why it captures such striking views. Stairs are the pathways to our rooms and common areas. While we truly value accessibility, it's essential to note the current limitations. Our long-term vision includes creating a space that can be enjoyed by all, ensuring everyone can relish in the beauty of Buffalo Lodge.

No TVs, but enjoy sunset views, books, games, and Wi-Fi.

We do not have laundry at this stage, but there are two laundromats a short drive away in town.

Unfortunately, we're not pet-friendly, though we do love our furry friends. In this area, we do have to take extra care and mindfulness of the native birds, especially the kiwi’s.

We require payment in full when you make your booking. Our refund policy is as follows:

Refund policy

A full refund is available for cancellations made up to 30 days before check-in.

If the original booking was made fewer than 30 days before check-in, a full refund is offered for cancellations made within 48 hours of the original booking and at least 14 days before check-in.
After that, a 50% refund is available up to 7 days before check-in.

We are unable to offer any refund for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in
